Is Flash 9 preview a Trial?
There’s some confusion over this matter (even myself is confused) and the answer is:
- If you own Flash 8 or Studio 8, then you can use it for a long time
- If not, then it is a 30-day trial
Honestly speaking, I don’t think Adobe has made it clear on the website. Tho Mike Downey mention that it is in the FAQ, I wonder how many people will really go and read it (and the FAQ button seems not obvious at all).
It’s better for Adobe to make it clear on the first page of the preview release site.
When I downloaded flash 9, I found this very clear. Even after all was installed it is the same version as flash 8(Education in my case), and when you download a trial version there is that box that always comes up telling you how much longer the trial will last.

Here I had held back installing it until I had a solid 30 days to play. Thanks for the heads-up. Game on!
Comment by sw — July 7, 2006 @ 1:43 amBecause I have Flash 8 installed when I install Flash 9, I suspect this makes any trial message disappear and turn out I was interfered by others who are discussing this matter.
But anyway, I still think it is not clearly stated in the Adobe site.
