English Flash Trial for Windows CORRUPTED!

Filed under: Using Flash — betaruce @ 4:05 pm

I’ve downloaded the trial for several times already. Everytime I try to install it, it cannot be unpacked successfully as it is corrupted. Besides, Windows tell me that the exe is from Unknown Publisher -_-

Some of my fds who downloaded Flash last week doesn’t have that problem. I guess MM has updated the file a bit but with some errors in it.

I’ve emailed MM already and I hope the problem can be solved soon.

Additional Info (after reading JD’s comment):

2 of my fds have tried to download Flash from MM. 1 download just after me and experience the same problem. Another fd download last week (or maybe last last week?) and the exe ran perfectly.

All 3 of us use IE, with good connection speed and enough memory in the computer.

  1. For what it’s worth, I have not heard of any change with any of the Studio 8 downloads.

Have you checked against the several possible problems with downloads described in this technote? There are a couple of known ways to get a similar symptom… have we ruled these out yet?

  3. Hi,

I has seen such a thing happening with some Flash users. In most of the cases it is due to missing bytes in the installer due to a incomplete download of the installer. Though you get to see the full installer when a few bytes gets missed the installer woudn’t work as intended. Did you try downloading the installer again? I know it’s a pain to download it again but try it with some download manager. In most of the cases it would work.

    Thanks,
    KP

  4. Well, glad to know I’m not alone. I’ve tried to download the trial to my machine about a dozen times at different times of the day. Every time it’s been the same size on my disk and what it says the download size is on the site. And every time it gives me the message when the installer goes to start…

  5. LastAsHero: I’m not sure, but it only happens to Flash but not the others? I can download files from any other sites w/out any problems….even other MM products are ok.

Mike: Finally I ask my fd who successfully d/l Flash to send me the copy.
